Just because Birch Tar is mostly used in very small amounts doesn't mean we can't find the most beautiful example of the material. Far too often perfumers seek the lowest cost birch tar but at Fraterworks we consider that every material must be truly exquisite to be used in our fragrances and bases and sold to our clients and customers. And so we present this marvellous product from Payan Bertrand.

Payan Bertrand's rectified Birch Tar from Finland is a model of good behaviour. It sits smoothly in a blend with absolutely no unwanted meaty or fishy notes that so often mar lower-quality versions of this natural.

Because of the strength and cost of this birch tar we also offer it at 10% dilution in natural triethyl citrate which means it is still compatible with natural perfumery. Even at 10% dilution this oil is still very strong, so we suggest diluting further to 1% where its effect is still noticeable (as evidenced in our Aventus demonstration formula below).
